Did you know Halloween can be a scary time for your smile? Well, it’s true, especially because of the countless amounts of candy and treats available. However, even though there are many smile-harming products around, there are some things you can do to scare tooth decay away this Halloween. Those things are:

-Brush your fangs: Make sure to brush your teeth every morning and every night. As you brush, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Brush for two minutes at a time and make sure to scrub each tooth.

-Floss your chompers: Flossing is vital this holiday season, which is why we encourage you to floss between each tooth at least once a day. Doing so will help remove the harmful particles that your favorite Halloween treats leave behind.

-Avoid sticky, hard, and gooey treats: There are some candies that are more harmful for your teeth than others, and those are the sticky, hard, and gooey treats. These treats are harmful because they stick to your teeth for a long period of time, so we recommend avoiding them altogether.

-Visit your dental issue-fighting hero, the dentist: If you’re due for a checkup, now is the best time to get one. The treatment will deeply clean your teeth and strengthen your smile—just in time for Halloween! This treatment will help you avoid dental issues as much as possible.

Doing these things will help you have a smile-healthy Halloween in Salinas, California.
